About me
Description

Many of my friends often ask: What is it like to study BSc in Global China Studies? Is it a cultural study program? Same doubts in my mind were cleared until the admissions talk given by HKUST. I realized this program can fulfil my twofold interests in both literature and multi-angle study of social sciences. Subsequently, from a high school alumnus who was studying at HKUST, he shared that studying literature was not the sole means to understand social issues. I was very much inspired and later affirmed my interests and determination in social sciences. Minoring in Economics also help to equip myself with the holistic need of knowledge and skills of this age.

Fly high, achieve more
Description

In addition to cross-disciplinary knowledge in Philosophy, Economics, Politics, International Relations, etc., I received lots of pre-employment support and a wide range of opportunities at HKUST to broaden my world horizons. I visited South Korea for a social innovation research, and interned at a local financial institution, a Mainland company, and even at the regional office of a US senator. These unconventional experiences encouraged me to be more adventurous, be bold and achieve more.

Passing on the guiding light
Description

In retrospect, the inspiration I got from my high school alumni and professors’ support were turning points in my studies and my career. I therefore cherish every golden occasion to share my experiences. Being the coach in the HKUST SELF Leadership program allowed me to give guidance to plan their university life by passing on my insights gained from school and work, and leading them to understand themselves and their passion. Mentoring, in turn, has helped me develop leadership skills and confidence. The recognition I got strengthened my will in future direction of life.
