Post-Secondary Applicants

Local and international students may apply universities bachelor’s degree to study in Hong Kong or Asia. Students with post-secondary education background may apply for admissions to university. These students include:

  1. Current students or graduates of an associate degree or a higher diploma program at Hong Kong institutions and
  2. Students from abroad who wish to study in Hong Kong or Asia, with an associate, sub-degree or higher diploma can also consider to transfer to HKUST
  3. Transfer students from local or overseas bachelor’s degree programs from other universities.

Currently, there are 150 places designated as articulation opportunities for local AD and HD graduates. Admitted students will be granted special advanced credits enabling them to be admitted directly to a senior year of an individual program.

Other applicants will be considered for advanced credits on a case-by-case basis. The year of entry will depend on the number of advanced credits granted.

Application Procedure for Applicants with Post-secondary Qualifications

Your application should include:

  • A completed online application form, including a personal statement
  • Copies of national ID card and/or travel document
    (must upload Hong Kong ID card copy and Hong Kong Visa/Entry Permit copy, if available)
  • Academic transcripts and public examination result certificates
  • Certificates and proofs for significant prizes and awards
  • Nomination of an academic referee
    (An email invitation will be sent to the academic referee you nominated in the online application form at the time you submit the application.)
  • CV /résumé (Optional)

Application must be submitted with the HK$450 application fee to be considered. Application fee can be paid by credit card (online).

Upon accepting an offer, you will receive information on the arrangement of official documents submission, student visa application (for non-local student), course registration, accommodation, and orientation-related information.
