School of Science (SSCI)

The School of Science is committed to providing a high-quality, balanced education that emphasizes competence, flexibility and creativity. Throughout the School’s four-year curriculum, students are equipped with essential skills, knowledge and confidence to become leaders and independent thinkers. The School currently has five Departments/Divisions which are Life Science (LIFS), Chemistry (CHEM), Mathematics (MATH), Ocean Science (OCES), and Physics (PHYS). The School offers ten BSc degree programs.

HKUST - School of Engineering

School of Engineering (SENG)

The School of Engineering is HKUST’s largest School. The School enrolls almost 40% of the University’s student body. It is devoted to advancing knowledge through research, to stimulating learning through teaching, and to promoting the economic and social development of Hong Kong. The School comprises six Departments which are Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE), Civil and Environmental Engineering (CIVE), Computer Science and Engineering (COMP), Electronic and Computer Engineering (ELEC), Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics (IEDA) and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE). The School offers sixteen engineering degrees.

School of Business and Management (SBM)

HKUST’s School of Business and Management was the first business school in the region to earn double accreditation by prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in U.S. and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) in Europe. Since its beginning, the HKUST Business School has been a global leader in business education. The School strives to advance global business knowledge, to nurture business leaders, and to contribute to the economic and social advancement of both Hong Kong and Asia. There are six departments under HKUST Business School, which are Accounting (ACCT), Economics (ECON), Finance (FINA), Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management (ISOM), Management (MGMT), and Marketing (MARK). The School currently offers fourteen BBA or BSc degree programs.

School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS)

HKUST’s School of Humanities and Social Science is the largest interdisciplinary university-level humanities and social sciences programs in Greater China, and it is particularly proud of the depth and breadth of its program-wide focus on China. The School has developed strategic partnerships with world renowned universities such as the California Institute of Technology, UCLA and Peking University. The SHSS comprises the Division of Humanities and the Division of Social Science. It offers two BSc degree program.

Interdisciplinary Programs Office (IPO)

HKUST’s Interdisciplinary Programs Office is a reflection of the University’s commitment to innovative teaching, learning and research and to making its degree programs relevant in the modern world. Increasingly, the challenges facing society are multifactorial, multidisciplinary, and often multicultural. Hence, the solutions to global problems come down to management, both of people and of information. The IPO has targeted three specific areas where management is key: environmental health, business risk, and technology, and it offers a degree program in each of these areas.

    Different universities have different application deadlines. The deadlines would be different for local/international curriculum as well.
