JUPAS Applicants applying with HKALE Results

General requirements

Local applicants with results in HKALE will be considered for admission to 3-year Undergraduate Programs in 2012.

For entry to an undergraduate program of study at HKUST, applicants have to satisfy both the General University Admission Requirements and specific Program Admission Requirements.

Admission to the University is selective.  Eligible applicants may be requested to attend personal interviews or take additional tests administered by the University for further assessment.  Holding the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE)

Minimum Requirement
a) English Language Level 2
b) Chinese Language
     or
    An alternative language
Level 2

Grade E
c) Mathematics Grade E
d) Four other subjects Grade E
  • The above attainments must be obtained at the 1st and/or 2nd attempts.
  • At least 5 of these subject attainments must be obtained at a single sitting.
  • For English Language/Chinese Language taken prior to 2007, Grade E or above is required.

Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE)

Minimum Requirement
a) AS Use of English Grade E
b) AS Chinese Language and Culture
            or
    An AL/AS subject additional to (c)*

* The additional AL/AS requirement is only applicable to applicants who use an alternative language, rather than Chinese, to satisfy the HKCEE language requirements.
