  • Completion of an Associate Degree or a Higher Diploma from a post-secondary institution recognized by HKUST; or
  • Completion of one year of full-time undergraduate studies in a post-secondary institution recognized by HKUST

Normally, a GPA above B+/80% is expected in your post-secondary studies. In addition, results from any high school exams taken in the past should be at the standard that HKUST expects from this year's high school senior applicants.

Students from Mainland China who have JEE results and currently enrolled in university may apply for admission to HKUST on the following basis:

  1. Your JEE scores are above HKUST's JEE admission interview cut-off for your JEE examination year and province/city; and
  2. Your current GPA in university is above B+/80%

English Language Admission Requirement

English is the language of instruction at HKUST. All applicants must demonstrate their competence in the English language prior to admission. Applicants seeking admission to undergraduate programs with non-local qualifications may satisfy the English language admission requirement through one of the following ways. Other evidence of English proficiency may be considered on individual basis.

  1. Achieve the competence standard indicated by one of these English language proficiency tests. The test scores must be obtained in the most recent two years before the application for admission.
