Description

Students with 36 or more total points in the IB (including bonus points) will be awarded IB Diploma Scholarship funding. Details are as follows:

Description

Candidates who are admitted with GCEAL/International AL qualifications and attained an A* in at least 3 AL subjects (excluding Chinese) are considered for this scholarship. Details are as follows:

University Admissions Scholarship for Other Qualifications Holders
Description

Academic scholarships are also awarded to top students with other qualifications based on academic merit. 

Applicants are considered for these scholarships holistically, based on their profiles. Awards may be one-off or renewable, and may fully or partially waive tuition fees. The largest amount of scholarship funding is equivalent to the full tuition fee plus an allowance of HKD55,000 per academic year, renewable for the normative duration of study (subject to satisfactory academic performance). 

No separate application is needed. Normally, applicants are notified of our scholarship decision when they receive their offer of admissions.

Description

To recognize the academic achievements of students, JUPAS students attaining Level 5** in one or more Category A subjects or M1 / M2 in one single sitting of HKDSE will be eligible for JUPAS Scholarships. The JUPAS Scholarships range from HKD5,000 (+School top-up#) to a full scholarship of "Full tuition fee plus living allowance of HKD55,000" per annum, renewable for normative duration of study.  

Students may receive additional top-up scholarships offered by Schools or Program Office provided that the maximum scholarship limit for each student of full tuition fee plus HKD55,000 living allowance per annum is not exceeded. Students with the weighted HKDSE scores achieved at 31 or above

For 2021 intake, students admitted into the Science (Group A) program (JS5102), Science (Group A) with an Extended Major in Artificial Intelligence (JS5181) and Science (Group B) program (JS5103) who have achieved the weighted HKDSE scores# at 31 or above in one single sitting of HKDSE will be granted the Exchange Scholarships+ of HKD10,000 ONE-OFF.

Remarks:
# HKDSE scores are calculated using the following scoring scale:  
Level 5** = 7 points, Level 5* = 6, Level 5 = 5, Level 4 = 4, Level 3 = 3 and Level 2 = 2.

+ Notes on the Exchange Scholarships: 

  • The scholarship is applicable to exchange programmes arranged by the School of Science.

Dean of Engineering Scholarship

To recognize the academic achievements of students, the School of Engineering offers top-up scholarship (Dean of Engineering Scholarship) to HKDSE students admitted via the JUPAS scheme.

The maximum scholarship limit for each student is full tuition plus HKD55,000 living allowance per annum. The amount as shown in the following table has already included the University Scheme of JUPAS Scholarship. Students do not have to apply for the scholarship. The University will identify qualifying JUPAS entrants and inform selected students of the scholarship awards in due course.

For students with any subject attained Level 5**

JUPAS students admitted to the School of Engineering who have attained 5** in at least one Category A subjects or M1 / M2 in one single sitting of HKDSE will be granted top-up scholarships.

JUPAS students admitted to the School of Engineering who have attained 5* in at least two Category A subjects or M1 / M2 in one single sitting of HKDSE will be granted top-up scholarships. Each 5* will be awarded HKD5,000 in this scheme, which means eligible students will be awarded at least HKD10,000. For students with any subject attained 5**, please refer to the above table.

JUPAS students admitted to the School of Humanities and Social Science, i.e. BSc in Global China Studies program (JS5411) and BSc in Quantitative Social Analysis program (JS5412), who have attained 5** in one or more Category A subjects or M1 / M2 in one single sitting of HKDSE will be granted top-up scholarships.

In addition to 5**, students who obtain 5* in one or more Category A subjects or M1 / M2^ in the same sitting as above will be awarded additional scholarship. Please refer to the next scholarship table as appended below.

# OLE Scholarship: The Overseas Learning Experience (OLE) Scholarship aims at supporting students to participate in one of the School of Humanities and Social Science’s overseas co-curricular programs, for example, overseas exchange, overseas internships, etc. during their study at HKUST School of Humanities of Social Science. The scholarship award does not automatically entitle awardees to participation in these co-curricular programs. Awardees who wish to participate in such programs have to apply through the normal channels and are subject to the same selection process and requirements as other students.

JUPAS students admitted to the School of Humanities and Social Science, i.e. BSc in Global China Studies program (JS5411) and BSc in Quantitative Social Analysis program (JS5412), who have attained 5* in one or more Category A subjects or M1 / M2 in one single sitting of HKDSE will be granted top-up scholarships.

To recognize the academic achievements of students, the Interdisciplinary Programs Office offers top-up scholarship to HKDSE students admitted via the JUPAS scheme. JUPAS students admitted to the Interdisciplinary Programs, i.e., BSc in Environmental Management and Technology (EVMT, JS5812) and BEng/BSc & BBA Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP, JS5901), who have attained 5** in one or more Category A subjects or M1 / M2 in one single sitting of HKDSE will be granted top-up scholarships.

The maximum scholarship limit for each student is full tuition plus HKD55,000 living allowance per annum. The amount as shown in the following table has included the University Scheme of JUPAS Scholarship. Students do not have to apply for the scholarship. Description

To recognize the academic achievements of students, top-up scholarship will be offered to HKDSE students admitted to the Joint School Programs via the JUPAS scheme.

Students admitted to BSc in Risk Management and Business Intelligence (JS5814) will be granted top-up scholarship set in the “School of Business and Management – JUPAS Scholarship Top-up Scheme”. Interested students may visit the above section for details.

For students admitted to BSc in Biotechnology and Business (JS5811) and BSc in Mathematics and Economics (JS5813), who have attained 5** in one or more Category A subjects or M1 / M2 in one single sitting of HKDSE will be granted top-up scholarships as below.

The maximum scholarship limit for each student is full tuition plus HKD55,000 living allowance per annum. The amount as shown in the following table has included the University Scheme of JUPAS Scholarship. Students do not have to apply for the scholarship. Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Scholarship
Description

The WISE Scholarship was set up to encourage top caliber female students in the JUPAS pool to join our School of Science, School of Engineering or Interdisciplinary Programs Office. Female students with a strong interest in science or engineering who obtain Level 5** in at least one Category A subject are eligible for consideration for the WISE Scholarship. On top of academic strengths, WISE Scholars are expected to demonstrate non-academic talents, achievements in science and technology competitions, and good interview performance. Students do not have to apply for the scholarship. The University will identify qualifying JUPAS entrants and inform selected students of the scholarship awards in due course.

In the 2020/21 intake, each awardee will receive funding ranging from a one-off award of HKD10,000 to a renewable award of HKD20,000 p.a., and will also be entitled for the University’s JUPAS Scholarship Scheme. The number of awardees will vary from year to year depending on the academic and non-academic merits of the eligible candidates, as well as the available funding.

Description

Being a student athlete is never easy, as it takes immense effort to juggle academic and sporting commitments. We are committed to supporting student athletes who wish to develop their full sporting potential without sacrificing their academic studies. 

Through the Student Athletes Admissions Scheme (SAAS) and its associated Sports Scholarship, elite student athletes can pursue their sporting dreams while still receiving a high-quality education.

  • Admissions scholarships are awarded to top students from all backgrounds based on academic merit and non-academic achievements. 
  • All applicants are considered for academic scholarships. 
  • No separate application is required for consideration for academic scholarships.

University Admissions Scholarship Scheme for IB Diploma Holders
Description

Students with 36 or more total points in the IB (including bonus points) will be awarded IB Diploma Scholarship funding. Details are as follows:

45 Full tuition plus living allowance of HKD55,000 p.a., renewable for normative duration of study
42-44 Full tuition, one-off#

Students do not have to apply for this scholarship. All IB Diploma candidates/holders are automatically considered for the award based on their verified IB total points. The University selects qualifying students and informs the selected students of their scholarship awards in due course.

Description

Candidates who are admitted with GCEAL/ International AL qualifications and attained A* in at least 3 AL subjects will be considered for the Scholarship. Details are as follows:

University Admissions Scholarship for Other Qualifications Holders
Description

Academic scholarships are also awarded to top students with other qualifications based on academic merit. 

Applicants are considered for these scholarships holistically, based on their profiles. Awards may be one-off or renewable, and may fully or partially waive tuition fees. The largest amount of scholarship funding is equivalent to the full tuition fee plus an allowance of HKD55,000 per academic year, renewable for the normative duration of study (subject to satisfactory academic performance). 

No separate application is needed. Normally, applicants are notified of our scholarship decision when they receive their offer of admissions.
