Direct Admissions –
Local Applicants with Post-Secondary or Other Qualifications

To ensure that students admitted have adequate academic preparation to enable them to do well in the respective program, the University requires prospective students to meet (i) the General University Admission Requirements, (ii) the Program Admission Requirements and (iii) the English Language Admission Requirement. 

Overseas Associate Degree or Higher Diploma

Completion of an associate degree or a higher diploma in an overseas post-secondary institution recognized by HKUST. 

Transfer from Another University

Completion of full-time first year study that leads to a Bachelor's degree in a post-secondary institution recognized by HKUST.  GPA B+ or GPA 80% is normally expected.

Others

Applicants with outstanding achievements at international competitions, such as the International Mathematics or Physics Olympiad, will be considered on individual merits.
